Each November, The Norcross Foundation partners with various community sponsors in support of the Cooper Norcross Run the Bridge, the largest 10K in the tri-state region. Each year, more than 4,000 individuals participate in the event’s 10K run and 2-mile bridge walk. Founded in 2001, the Cooper Norcross Run the Bridge is the most significant fundraising event for Larc School, a non-profit special education school serving students with a wide range of moderate to severe disabilities, free of cost. Through the Run and other initiatives, Larc School has been the beneficiary of millions of fundraising dollars.
Renowned for its warm, family-like atmosphere, small class sizes and focus on each student’s individual goals and abilities, Larc School was first named the beneficiary of Run the Bridge in 2002. In its inaugural year, the event registered 750 participants and 24 major sponsors. The Run continues to grow each year and includes support and resources from the following organizations: The Norcross Foundation, Cooper University Hospital, AmeriHealth and many other businesses and organizations.
George E. Norcross III is Chairman of the Cooper Norcross Run the Bridge and his daughter, Lexie Norcross, serves on the Larc School Board of Trustees. The event holds a special place in the hearts and minds of the Norcross family and will remain an integral initiative of The Norcross Foundation for years to come.
